alias Jodha, and two of his gang members in a dacoity case on Wednesday.

The court of additional district and sessions judge Harish Anand framed charges against Jodha, Balraj Sharma and Amrik Singh under sections 397 (robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) , 365 (kidnapping), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the

Indian Penal Code

and ection 35 of the Arms Act in a December 2017 related episode.

The incident dates back to December 24, 2017, wherein Jai Ram, 48, a Sector 56 resident, was going home from Zirakpur when three youths in the stolen Ritz car stopped him near the Sector 55 bus stop and forcibly bundled him into the car at gunpoint. The victim was allegedly beaten up and was asked for his ATM card and pin number.

The accused used the card to withdraw Rs 10,000 from an ATM on the Samrala-Khana road. The victim managed to escape later.

Later, the trio were identified as Jodha, Amrik and Balraj and an FIR for robbery and kidnapping was lodged against them.

The accused had been allegedly using a white Maruti Ritz car with a Haryana registration number, which is said to be fake. In less than a month, they robbed five people on gunpoint, two cases involved abduction as well.
