CHANDIGARH: The municipal corporation (MC) is all set to auction its 18 major commercial properties at key locations in Manimajra.

The civic body has estimated Rs 61.71 crore as reserve price for the properties, varying from over Rs 3 crore to Rs 6 crore for each as per size, location and other criteria. The matter was discussed and approved during the monthly general house meeting of the MC on Tuesday.

Besides, one motor shop and two restaurant sites, all properties to be auctioned are shop-cum-flats (SCFs). After taking approval from the UT administration, the MC has earmarked all these SCF sites for general trade.

All the properties will be disposed of through e-auction only. The civic body has drafted terms and conditions. The MC would set up a helpdesk to provide information and help interested people to participate in the e-auction. Interested bidders would have to upload the required documents on the time.



AAP, BJP spar

A verbal spat broke out between AAP and BJP councillors during the monthly general house meeting on Tuesday. As the house meeting started, the AAP councillors rushed to the well of the house with posters demanding to cancel the tender of Lions company carrying out sanitation works in the southern sectors well. BJP councillors responded by levelling corruption allegations against their councillors.
