Cash award for gallantry award winners revised

Chandigarh: The UT Administration has revised the rates of the cash award (one-time), land or monetary grant in lieu of land (one-time), monthly allowances, as applicable to gallantry and distinguished award winners.  The one-time lump grant to future awardees from the date of the notification (December 22, 2022) for Param Vir Chakra (PVC) is Rs 2 crore (increased from Rs 30 lakh), Ashok Chakra Rs 2 crore (from Rs 30 lakh), Maha Vir Chakra Rs 1 crore (from Rs 20 lakh), Kirti Chakra Rs 1 crore (from Rs 20 lakh),Vir Chakra Rs 50 lakh (from Rs 15 lakh) and Shaurya Chakra Rs 50 lakh (from Rs 15 lakh).The monthly allowance for a Param Vir Chakra awardee has revised from Rs 15,400 to Rs 41,580; for Ashok Chakra from Rs 15,400 to Rs 33,264; Maha Vir Chakra from Rs 11,500 to Rs 31,601; Kirti Chakra from Rs 11,550 to Rs 24,948; Vir Chakra from Rs 5,400 to Rs 18,295; Shaurya Chakra from Rs 3,100 to Rs 5,580. tnn
