Punjab Governor and administrator Chandigarh,
VP Singh Badnore
, at
Punjab Raj Bhavan
on Wednesday. Discussing various issues at length, the
governor
said that there was a major scope of cooperation in the areas of sustainable development particularly in the fields of education, transport, waste management and urban development. He said that the most important areas of our interest are segregation of waste. We need latest technology in this field.
Stressing upon exchange programme, governor desired if there teachers can come and teach here for a year or two, it would help in raising the standard of education especially in English. He said that Chandigarh is number one city in India for very many reasons, especially in architecture, cleanliness, greenery and also leading in tapping roof top solar energy in the country. He said we have number of parks here and we want to further develop them to make this city looks more green. David Lelliott assured the governor that they would extend all possible cooperation and extends helping hand in sharing latest technical know-how in the areas of your interest.
