1 held for firing at cops in Mohali

Mohali: Police have arrested a man on charges of firing at a police party at a check post. The DSP said the accused is Balkar Singh, a resident of Ludhiana. On February 2, police party signaled a Mahindra Thar to stop at a check post in Sector 104. Two persons in the jeep started arguing with the police party and suddenly pulled out a gun and fired at the cops and fled. A case for attempt to murder and under Arms Act was registered. Police arrested Balkar from Ludhiana and recovered the jeep.
