Investigation officer ASI Ramprakash Singh said that the survivor, a resident of Koh-e-Fiza, is a student of BCom second year. She alleged in her complaint that around a year back, she came in contact with Faraz Ali, 22, a resident of Malihabad in Lucknow, at a garments exhibition at Bittan Market.

The accused worked as a salesman. He took her mobile number on the pretext that he would send her the photographs of new ‘Lakhnawi’ dresses. The accused started talking to her over phone and offered her to start a business of ‘Lakhnawi’ garments.

Both started talking over the phone and the accused proposed to marry her. The survivor refused to marry him. ASI Singh said that despite the survivor’s refusal, the accused visited Bhopal and started stalking her. He found out her address but the girl stopped talking to him. The survivor alleged that on May 27 around 11pm, the accused barged into her home. He had a blade in his hand and asked her whether she would marry him or not.

When she refused, the accused allegedly attacked her with the blade due to which she sustained injury on her left hand and started bleeding. When she pushed him out, he slit his own hand. The survivor raised an alarm after which locals rushed to help her and nabbed the accused.
