Patient gang-raped by 3 at govt hospital in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: A 28-year old patient was allegedly gang-raped by three people in a government hospital in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh.

The 28-year old survivor who is resident of Sidhi district, came to Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Rewa for treatment of pain in chest, she was admitted at the hospital on Thursday night.

"A case of gang-rape has been registered against three unidentified people and we are investigating the matter," civil lines police station incharge, Umesh Marko told TOI.

The survivor told police that she was admitted at the second floor of the hospital and came to the ground floor in the night to get the receipt for X-ray and while she was returning to her bed in the hospital, the accused caught her and took her to the roof, where they took turns to rape her.

However in the meantime, some of the hospital staffers reached there by any chance and rescued her, but the accused managed to flee, said sources.
