Minor kidnapped, gangraped by three in Chhatarpur
Bhopal: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped, confined and gang-raped by three men in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, police said on Sunday. All three accused, including an uncle-nephew duo, were arrested within 24 hours of the crime being reported, and the police also seized a Maruti Suzuki Swift car and a scooter used in the offence.
According to police, the incident took place near the local bus stand area, where the accused allegedly lured the girl away, forced her into a vehicle and took her to an isolated place. She was then allegedly held captive and sexually assaulted before being dropped off from the car at an abandoned spot, after which the accused fled.
After the survivor lodged a complaint, senior police officials rushed to the scene and carried out an inspection. Given the seriousness of the offence against a minor, Sagar Inspector General of Police Mithilesh Shukla announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the arrest of the absconding suspects, and special teams were formed to trace them.
The police identified the arrested men as Arvind Kushwaha, Ravi Kushwaha and Ravindra Kushwaha. Investigators said Ravi and Arvind are uncle and nephew, and their role was established after sustained questioning and supporting technical evidence.
A case has been registered at Kotwali police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused are being produced before a local court and investigation is underway.
