Man vainly chases mobile snatchers for 2km in Bhopal

Bhopal: Two bike-borne miscreants allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a 28-year-old man in MP Nagar area late Sunday night and fled from the spot. After the incident, the man and his friend chased the accused on their scooter for nearly two kilometres, but the miscreants managed to escape by speeding away on their motorcycle. Acting on the complaint, MP Nagar police on Monday registered a snatching case against unidentified accused and started investigations.

According to police, complainant Sanjay Singh Soni, 28, a resident of Ayodhya Nagar, works in the media industry. On Sunday night around 11.15 pm, he was going from 6-Number Stop towards 7-Number Stop along with his friend Amit. During this time, Sanjay was talking on his mobile phone.

Police said that two youths riding an motorcycle approached them, and the pillion rider snatched Sanjay’s mobile phone before fleeing towards Mansarovar Complex area.

Immediately after the incident, Sanjay and his friend chased the accused on their scooter. Seeing that they were being followed, the miscreants allegedly increased the speed of their motorcycle and escaped towards the Board Office area. Despite chasing them for a considerable distance, the accused could not be caught.

Following the incident, Sanjay lodged a complaint at MP Nagar police station. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused.
