Bhopal: A sessions court here on Thursday sentenced a person to life imprisonment on charges of killing a woman.
According to the prosecution, the body of a woman was found by the roadside Vaibhav Homes Road on June 16, 2018. The woman, aged 40 to 45 years of age, was semi-clad and her legs were tied with a rope and there were signs of injuries on her face, ears and mouth seemingly caused by a weapon. There were also signs of the woman's body being dragged from the house of the accused to the place where it was dumped.
Based on this, Amit Tiwari, the person from whose house the body of the woman was dragged and dumped at some distance by the roadside, was questioned. His house was searched in which sign of blood were found on the walls and doors, the weapon used for murder and the mattress soaked in blood was seized. Police also seized sandals of the woman from the house.
The prosecution said that the woman had come to Tiwari's residence for some reason where there was a dispute between the two. An enraged Tiwari killed and dumped her body at a distance from his house by the roadside.
The court of additional district & sessions judge Balram Yadav held the accused guilty under section 302 and 201 of the IPC and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
