Bhopal: A 46-year-old bike borne man was crushed to death after a speeding vehicle knocked him down in Eintkhedi locality on Tuesday night.
Investigating officer ASI RP Yadav said that the deceased Suresh Raghuvanshi, hailed from Silwani in Raisen District. For the last 18 years he was residing in Islampura, Eintkhedi and used to do farming on a contractual basis, police said.
ASI said that on Tuesday night he went for some work on his motorcycle. Around 9.15 pm when he was returning home on Bhopal - Berasia highway, a speeding unidentified vehicle hit him from front near Anjani Dham temple. His head was crushed under the wheels of the vehicle, so he succumbed on the spot. On getting information from locals, a team of Eintkhedi police rushed to the spot and started the investigation.
ASI said since it was a dark and isolated place, no eyewitness was found and the identity of the vehicle is yet to be ascertained.
A case was registered at Eintkhedi police station and efforts are underway to identify the accused, said the cops.
