Bhopal: A sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Teonthar sustained severe injuries as his car rammed a truck in Rewa district.
The incident took place on national highway 30 under Garh police station late on Sunday evening.
SDOP Teonthar, Samarjeet Singh has sustained severe injuries and he is admitted at Sanjay Gandhi Medical college and hospital, Rewa for treatment.
Additional SP (Mauganj) Rewa said, “He has sustained fracture in rib bones and is recuperating at the hospital. Things could have been worse, if the airbag of the car the officer was travelling had not opened on time.”
Sources said that Samarjeet Singh was driving his personal vehicle and was going towards Sohagi. As soon as his vehicle reached Dharabigha over-bridge, it rammed into a truck that was moving ahead. The truck had probably applied sudden brakes.
Detailed investigations are being carried out by police, said sources.
