Beware of BJP’s jumlebazi: Chief minister Kamal Nath

on Sunday cautioned people against “jumlebazi” of

BJP leaders

and said they should be prepared for plenty of it now since the dates for

Lok Sabha polls

have been announced, but they should not be misled by false promises.


Addressing public meetings in Chhindwara district on Sunday, the CM said that the promises made by BJP leaders during 2014 polls are yet to be fulfilled as Modi government has virtually “deceived” the people and it’s time Modi is asked why did he fool the public.

Kamal Nath said that he had seen the pathetic condition of farmers in Chhindwara and it has always been on his mind that whenever he gets a chance, he would write off the loans of farmers and when that chance came his way, he has waived off loan of not only farmers of Chhindwara, but of 50 lakh farmers across the state. He accused the BJP government of “hoodwinking” the people for the last 15 years and said women welfare schemes conceived by former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, were projected as “Mama’s” welfare schemes for women and children. “Tribal welfare schemes were made during Indira Gandhi’s rule as prime minister of India, but BJP tried to take political mileage from them, too”, he said.

Kamal Nath said that when fresh assurances and promises are made by BJP leaders during this election, people should ask them, “Where is Rs 15 lakh that was to reach our accounts?” and “where are the two crore jobs which the BJP had promised each year?”, besides “where is the achhe din”? People of India may be simple, but they can’t be taken for granted, he said.

He said that Congress is a party of leaders, who have made ultimate sacrifice for the country, but when Modi or Shivraj Singh Chouhan are asked questions, they start talking of “nationalism” and “patriotism”. “Before imparting lessons on “nationalism” to Congress, BJP should name at least one leader from their party who fought for Independence of India and went to jail. The BJP is not in a position to reply to questions of either farmers or youth”, he said.

The chief minister claimed that what his government has done in 82 days, the BJP did not do in 15 years of its unbroken stint since 2003. He referred to steps taken by his government to fulfil promises made in the Congress “Vachan Patra” (manifesto).
