Youth held for attacking cops in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: A youth has been arrested in connection with violence during the celebrations of RCB’s victory in the IPL final late Sunday night.
Sudesh, 22, a resident of KR Pura who works at a private firm, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, police said.
Around 11.30 pm, three men arrived at Banasawadi on a motorcycle and allegedly began shouting slogans at the top of their voice in support of RCB, causing inconvenience to the residents.
When policemen on duty advised them not to create a disturbance, the situation allegedly took an ugly turn. One of the men reportedly got off the motorcycle and confronted the officers. He then allegedly abused the policemen, grabbed a constable and pushed him to the ground.
Police said that when the officers attempted to apprehend him, the other two men joined him. The trio then abandoned the motorcycle at the scene and fled.
Using the vehicle registration details, investigators tracked down and arrested Sudesh.
