Teen labourer dies in compound wall collapse in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A 17-year-old construction worker died, while another was injured, as an under-construction compound wall of an apartment collapsed Monday afternoon at Chikka Banaswadi.
The deceased has been identified as Bheemesh, while the injured is Doolayya, 32, both from Raichur. Based on preliminary investigation, police said the construction work was ongoing in the already completed apartment building on 5th Cross. Around 2pm, the compound wall, built with hollow bricks, collapsed. It fell on Bheemesh and Doolayya, causing serious injuries. Bheemesh died on the spot while Doolayya was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
A case has been registered under BNS Section 106 (causing death by negligence) at Banaswadi police station, and a notice served on the apartment owner, Prakash Babu.
