Techie cheated by man she met on marriage site
BENGALURU: A 27-year-old software engineer has accused an RT Nagar resident, whom she had met on a matrimonial site, of sexually exploiting and cheating her.

The woman told police that she uploaded her profile on shaadi.com and received a proposal from Farhat Nishat alias
“She met him first on July 14 and he agreed to marry her. Later, he took her to a hotel near the mall and got into a physical relationship with her. Later too, they met at the same hotel on July 28, August 10 and September 7,” a police officer said. After September, the woman could not reach Farhat as he had changed his contact number. She managed to trace Farhat’s residential address in RT Nagar and went there to meet him. But to the woman’s shock, he was already married. She realized that she had been cheated and approached Marathahalli police on Wednesday.
“We have registered a case under IPC’s sections 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage), 417 (punishment for cheating) and 420 (cheating) against the accused person. We will transfer the case to
Adugodi police said they have been informed about the case orally by their Marathahalli counterparts and would start investigation once they get the case-related documents.

The duo discussed their marriage over phone and the accused asked her to meet him near Forum Mall in Koramangala.“She met him first on July 14 and he agreed to marry her. Later, he took her to a hotel near the mall and got into a physical relationship with her. Later too, they met at the same hotel on July 28, August 10 and September 7,” a police officer said. After September, the woman could not reach Farhat as he had changed his contact number. She managed to trace Farhat’s residential address in RT Nagar and went there to meet him.
