BANGALORE: A fair share of felicitation, some complaints and loads of gratitude marked mayor P R Ramesh''s last day in office on Saturday.
The council meeting was spent on recalling his eight-month tenure. "My term was short due to the Assembly elections but I, as mayor, have conducted 38 meetings and cleared over 260 projects," Ramesh maintained.
Amid resentment from the opposition, the mayor cleared projects worth Rs 140 crore on the last day — development of a Freedom Park on the Central Jail premises at an estimated cost of Rs 7.5 crore; black asphalting package in ward no: 56 at a cost of Rs 2.8 crore; construction of a revenue office on the first floor at ward no: 15 in Rajajinagar complex at a cost of Rs 82 lakh.
The mayor also approved remodelling of the Koramangala and Challaghatta valley at a cost of Rs 130 crore.
