Karnataka likely to probe DK Shivakumar-era ‘solar scam’

In what appears to be a tit-for-tat move against Congress for its ‘PayCM’ campaign, Karnataka’s BJP government is set to order a highlevel inquiry into the alleged ‘solar project scam’ worth ₹2,100 crore of 2014-15. Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar was the energy minister at the time, reports Niranjan Kaggere.

BENGALURU: In what appears to be a tit-for-tat move against Congress for its ‘PayCM’ campaign, Karnataka’s BJP government is set to order a highlevel inquiry into the alleged ‘solar project scam’ worth ₹ 2,100 crore of 2014-15. Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar was the energy minister at the time, reports Niranjan Kaggere.
An internal audit by the energy department over the last month has allegedly revealed large-scale irregularities and rigging in the tender process that was wrapped up in just ‘seven minutes’.
