Family hails dark horse from Davanagere

DAVANAGERE: Family and friends of Union minister GM Siddeshwar have all reasons to celebrate. The three-time MP from Davanagere was sworn in as a minister of state on Monday. "It was unexpected. It's a feather in the crown of the district; we are so happy and proud,'' exclaimed Prabhu, brother-in-law of Siddeshwar.
Prabhu attributes Siddeshwar's success to his simplicity and social service."Narendra Modi likes him and offered him a ministerial berth,'' said Prabhu.
Siddeshwar's elder sister Leela Rajashekhar reveled in her brother's glory. "My father, the late G Mallikarjunappa, a two-time BJP MP from Davanagere, toured all remote places and had a good rapport with the people. My younger brother has followed in his footsteps and become popular here. He is a hatrick hero.'' Younger sisters, Parimala Nataraj and Gayatri Subhash, were equally ecstatic. "Our brother will certainly do good things for the state and the district,'' they said.
