, and ministers R V Deshpande and D K Shivakumar are among five members chosen by the coordination committee of the Congress-JD(S) coalition to draft the government’s common minimum programme (CMP).

Releasing the names, Kunwar Danish Ali, the committee’s convener, announced the JD(S) has decided to nominate H D Revanna, the PWD minister and brother of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, and former IAS officer S Subramanya. The latter is financial adviser to the chief minister, a post with cabinet rank.

The drafting committee will be tasked with the responsibility of merging the two manifestos of the Congress and JD(S) into a CMP of the coalition government. The members had helped prepare individual manifestos for the parties prior to the elections. While Moily was the head of the Congress manifesto committee, Subramanya was part of the team which drew-up promises of the regional party.

The committee has a 10-day deadline to complete the draft, which will then be placed before the co-ordination committee headed by former chief minister Siddaramaiah and also comprising Kumaraswamy, DyCM G Parameshwara and AICC general secretary Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal.
