Popular tourist spot Brindavan Gardens at Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir near Mysuru was closed for tourists on Monday afternoon owing to heavy rain and strong wind that uprooted several trees. The garden is likely to be closed on Tuesday as well.

KRS officials said Brindavan Gardens had to be closed keeping in mind the safety of tourists. Forest officials are expected to clear the uprooted trees and fallen branches on Tuesday.

As a result of heavy rain and gusty wind, electric poles inside the gardens had also fallen down.

The tourist spot sees a heavy rush during summer vacation. Officials said a record number of tourists visited the gardens on Sunday.
