He reviewed the Rs 175-crore integrated elevated corridor being constructed from Yelahanka police station junction to Yelahanka New Town and directed officials to ensure smooth vehicular movement. The work is happening in phases and project completion will ease traffic at NES junction, BWSSB junction, Seshadripuram junction and other areas.

He also inspected the Sampige Road white-topping project from Mantri Mall to

Yeshwantpur

junction, where he ordered officials to expedite work on pavements, laying OFC cable, and underground drainage. He also asked them to open the road to traffic at the earliest.

Giri Nath visited Sankey bund road where the stretch from Bashyam Circle to Malleswaram 18th Cross will be widened by 15m at a cost of Rs 60 crore. Asking officials to complete the tender process immediately, he left for Jayamahal Road, where he directed officials to shift UGD pipes dumped near the road. The road will be widened after the palace hands over some sites.

The chief commissioner also reviewed the progress of the Koramangala Rajakaluve (K-100) project. The

Palike

has nearly completed removing silt on 9.6km of stormwater drain from KR Market to Bellandur Lake. The Rs 175-crore project was taken up under the chief minister’s Navanagarothana programme.

After inspecting works related to diversion of sewage from homes to UGDs, he reviewed the work on building a retaining wall for SWD — a 1.5km stretch from JC Road to Shanthinagar bus stand — and water purification works at Kumbaragundi. He inspected bridges built on either side of the SWD. While the construction of six bridges has been completed, work is under way on three more.
