AP govt bus knocks down pedestrian

Bengaluru: A 29-year-old man crossing the road was killed after he was knocked down by a speeding govt bus on GT Road in Cottonpet area, central Bengaluru, Monday evening. The deceased was identified as Bhushan Patil, from Champagaav in Belagavi district.According to Chamarajpet traffic police, the accident happened around 7.15pm. The bus belonged to Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). Patil was crossing GT Road. The bus driver, who was speeding, failed to notice Patil and hit him, while entering the bus stand. Patil sustained severe head injuries and fractures on both hands. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital by passersby and the bus driver, identified as P Adinarayana. Doctors, upon examining him, declared him brought dead.The driver was arrested and booked under BNS sections 106 (negligence causing death).The police identified the deceased with the ID proofs available with him. They are yet to ascertain why he had come to Bengaluru.—————————- Homemaker, sons die in accidentBengaluru: A 38-year-old-homemaker and her two sons died on the spot after their motorbike rammed into a tractor-trailer in Kora, Tumakuru district, Tuesday morning.The deceased are Mumtaz Hussain and her sons Sahil Hussain, 18, and Mohammed Asif, 12. Residents of Guddenahalli in Madhugiri, the trio was riding back home after visiting relatives in Obalapura, police investigations revealed.Mumtaz's husband, Shakhir Hussain, a daily wage worker, told police that his elder son Sahil was riding the bike when the accident occurred around 6.30am. "There was thick fog and it reduced visibility, preventing Sahil from noticing the tractor parked by the roadside," he said. Police said the tractor driver, who is yet to be identified, did not turn on indicators or parking lights, which otherwise would have saved the three lives.
