Man held for killing wife on suspicion of illicit affair
Pilibhit: A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing his 34-year-old wife on suspicion of an illicit affair in Karher Chaura village under Puranpur Kotwali police limits in Pilibhit. Police said Ram Bahadur, 39, confessed to attacking his wife, Anita Devi, around noon on Friday, by repeatedly hitting her on the head with a small wooden seat. She died while she was being taken to a community health centre by her brother-in-law. "Her brother lodged a complaint and Bahadur was arrested and charged under BNS section 103(1) (murder)," SHO Pawan Pandey said. Married in 2010, the couple had a 12-year-old son and a nine-year-old daughter.
