Pilibhit: Promises of proper sanitation and solid waste management, relief to the poor from various taxes and regularisation of e-rickshaws on the pattern of Delhi dominate the Aam Aadmi Party’s 27-point manifesto for the urban local bodies’ elections.
The manifesto — unveiled by party’s central committee member Manoj Pandit at a press conference here on Monday — also laid stress on ‘Mohalla clinics’ to provide free medical services and medicines at cheaper rates to the poor.
Talking with TOI on the sidelines of the press conference, Pandit said the party had deputed central committee members in all Uttar Pradesh districts to supervise preparations and to guide local cadres and office bearers in campaigning.
He said the party was committed to improve the standard of education in government schools and colleges by deputing guest lecturers. “There is acute shortage of staff in these institutions, and the AAP will use the local bodies’ resources for this alternative arrangement.”
