226 found infected with both PF and PV malaria
BAREILLY: With 524 fresh cases of killer plasmodium falciparum (PF) reported in
Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Vineet Shukla said, “During tests, it was found that 236 persons have both PF and PV malaria infections. The treatment is the same as in PF malaria cases.”
Of the 524 PF cases reported on Monday, the maximum 294 were reported in Majhgavan, followed by Bhamora 99.
As the PF cases are on the rise, the health department said they have sufficient medicines and Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits to confirm malaria cases.

“PF medicine kit has a combination of three drugs for three days. The quantity of medicine varies according to age and body weight of the patient. Besides, we are also buying RDT kits from GeM portal according to our requirement.”
So far, 46 persons died due to fever in the past one month. The department has used 34,916 RDT kits for the detection of malaria till now.
Meanwhile, two wards have been reserved for PF patients at the district hospital.

(PV) have been found in 226 persons and the presence of both infections make it deadly. Besides, as 1,408 persons were detected with PV on Monday, the cumulative figure stands at 5,295.Of the 524 PF cases reported on Monday, the maximum 294 were reported in Majhgavan, followed by Bhamora 99.
