Unrest within Sena in Dharashiv surfaces during deputy CM Shinde’s visit

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A couple of key local Shiv Sena functionaries were briefly detained by the local police as a precautionary measure ahead of deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde's visit to Dharashiv on Sunday.Yuva Sena national council member Avinash Khape and local party politician Nitin Patil, who had lost the recent zilla parishad (ZP) polls, were detained by the police, exposing growing unrest within Shiv Sena in Dharashiv.After a BJP candidate became the president of the ZP for the first time in the history of Dharashiv, a group of local Sena workers accused the local leadership of acting hand in glove with BJP. Earlier, a group of unhappy local netas created ruckus during the meeting of Dharashiv guardian minister and Sena functionary Pratap Sarnaik recently.Shinde, who was in Dharashiv on Sunday to attend an event organised by the local journalists' union, did not comment on the unrest within the party.Also, despite the possibility of Shiv Sena (UBT) Dhrashiv MP Omraje Nimbalkar and Shinde sharing the dais during the event, the former did not turn up for the event, citing a prior commitment in Latur. Omraje is considered as a staunch supporter of Sena (UBT) supremo Uddhav Thackeray.Meanwhile, in his address during the event organised by local journalists' association, Shinde listed out the work he had done during his tenure as the chief minister and assured welfare of different sections of society as the deputy CM. "I was not born with a silver spoon, but I will ensure people of Maharashtra have golden days," he said in an oblique remark towards Thackeray.
