Aurangabad: The traffic police have announced traffic diversion of medium and heavy vehicles on the Khuldabad road from every Friday evening to Saturday midnight till August 27.
The diversion is announced to ensure the safety of devotees visiting the Hanuman temple at Khuldabad during the holy month of Shravan, which begins on Friday. The shrine at Khuldabad attracts huge crowds with many devotees undertaking a journey on foot from Aurangabad to the temple.
“The stretch of road from Aurangabad to Khuldabad is a part of the old Aurangabad-Dhule national highway and it witnesses heavy vehicular traffic. The traffic diversion for specified vehicles will be in effect from 6 pm every Friday to Saturday midnight,” assistant police commissioner (traffic) Vishal Dhume said.
The vehicular traffic on the aforesaid route is given alternative routes, including Daultabad T-point-Maliwada-Fatiyabad-Jambhala-Kasabkheda-Ellora, Daultabad t-point-Maliwada-Solapur-Dhule highway. The vehicular traffic heading towards Dhule or Nashik can pass via Nagar Naka- AS Club- Solapur-Dhule highway.
