Bulldozer action in NEET leak case: Unauthorised structure linked to accused PV Kulkarni demolished in Beed
CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Partners of a Beed-based construction firm, including NEET paper leak accused P V Kulkarni, demolished an unauthorised basement and RCC pillars of a project under construction on Monday, hours before the municipal council could act.
The Beed Municipal Council had issued notices on May 20 and 29 to Shivshakti Builders and Developers, directing removal of illegal construction carried out without prior approval under provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966.
The latest notice named five partners, including Pralhad Vitthal Kulkarni (P V Kulkarni), and warned of demolition by the civic body if the violations were not cleared within the stipulated time.
According to officials, the developers had constructed a basement and erected RCC pillars on a plot measuring over 6,000 sft without permission. When the firm failed to comply with the initial seven-day deadline, the council issued a second notice, granting three days and cautioning that demolition costs would be recovered from the builders.
Before civic authorities could initiate action, the developers deployed a bulldozer and razed the unauthorised structures.
Beed Municipal Council chief officer Shailesh Fadse said, “We had issued notices. We have received information that the owner has voluntarily removed the unauthorised construction. If an application for building permission is submitted in future, the existing status of the site will be physically verified and permission will be granted only if it complies with the rules.”
Officials clarified that only the basement and RCC framework had been erected and the main building had not yet come up.
Municipal records show the plot measures approximately 11.65m and 16.7m on the east-west sides, and 41.44m and 40.27m on the north-south sides.
Kulkarni, a Beed native, was recently arrested by the CBI as a key accused in the NEET question paper leak case, bringing the project under public scrutiny.
Civic authorities said any future construction on the plot will require mandatory approvals and strict compliance with planning norms.
