Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The education department of Beed zilla parishad on Tuesday suspended seven employees in connection with malpractice cases on the first day of the HSC exam at an examination centre in Chousala near.
Education officer Priyarani Patil said the employees failed to ensure the conduct of the exams in a free and fair manner and violated rules. "The suspension action against the staffers has been taken after carrying out an official inquiry. These staffers belong to two different educational institutions," she said.
Earlier, the education department authorities initiated criminal proceedings against 17 staffers for malpractice cases and other irregularities at the Chousala centre. An offence under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examination Act, 1982, was registered with the Neknoor police in the matter.
Unruly scenes were caught in drone surveillance outside the Chousala exam centre, where a sizable gathering of parents and others was seen outside the exam centre with the possible intention to support malpractices. Further inquiry revealed malpractices inside the exam centre as well, prompting authorities to take action.
Meanwhile, no malpractice case was registered in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division during both sessions of HSC examinations on Tuesday.
