TTD additional EO pats vegetable donors for their contributions to SV Nithyannaprasadam trust

TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams additional executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary lauded the contributions of the vegetable donors to Sri Venkateswara Nithya Annaprasadam trust through which the Tirupati trust provides round the clock free food to millions of devotees coming for a pilgrimage to Tirumala annually.Speaking to the 24 odd vegetable donors who came from various parts of the country to Tirumala on Tuesday, additional EO reiterated the temple trust's commitment in serving more delicious and quality Annaprasadam to the visiting devotees.He appealed to the donors to continue their largesse in serving the devotees by supplying more varities of vegetables to SV Nithyannaprasadam trust especially during the ensuing Srivari annual Brahmotsavams, a 9-day annual festival which is expected to attract a huge turnout of devotees from across the globe.Special catering officer GLN Shastry made a presentation, highlighting the contributions of the vegetable donors since 2004. It was two decades ago that the Tirupati trust launched the vegetable donation scheme, which created a platform for vegetable growers to reach out to the TTD and extend their donations in the form of vegetables, used in the preparation and distribution of free food to the visiting devotees.Later, additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary felicitated the vegetable donors in the presence of SV Nithyannaprasadam deputy executive officer Rajendra and other officials on Tuesday.
