TIRUPATI: Tirupati Gangamma Jatara begins on a grand note, TTD chairman presents "Sarey" to the folk Goddess Sandeep Raghavan
Tirupati, May 16: Tirupati Gangamma Jatara began on a grand note at the Tataiahgunta Gangamma temple in the city on Thursday.
TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy along with his son and deputy mayor Bhumana Abhinay Reddy presented "Sarey" to the folk Goddess on the eve of the Gangamma Jatara.
Tirupati MP Dr M Gurumoorthy also took part in a procession held before the presentation of the Sarey at the Tataiahgunta Gangamma temple.
Bhumana said this ancient temple is deep rooted in the history and the folk Goddess Gangamma is hailed as the sister of Lord Venkateswara Swamy.
Devotees donned different guises and thronged the shrine in large numbers to the Tataiahgunta Gangamma temple on Thursday.
