TIRUPATI: Srisailam Devasthanams has suspended two more officials on grounds of negligence and causing sacrilege at the temple premises.
The action was initiated following the outcome of an enquiry into the infamous episode in which an outsourcing staffer identified as Nagendram came to the temple premises in an inebriated state and was subsequently roughed up by the devotees on Thursday night.
While Nagendram was immediately suspended after the incident, Srisailam EO D Peddi Raju issued suspension orders to assistant executive officer G Swamulu and inspector Ganji Ravi on grounds of negligence.
Srisailam EO stated that notices were also issued to a Vijayawada based security manpower agency over the incident which caused extreme heartburn among the devotees.
Peddi Raju asserted that the Srisailam Devasthanams will initiate stringent measures to ensure such incidents do not repeat in the future and to preserve the sanctity of the age-old Srisailam shrine by all means.
