'Serving people is best way to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi'

(GMC), K Ramachandra Reddy has said that selflessly serving the people is the best way to pay tributes to the father of the nation.


He said that officials should pay full attention to resolve the grievances of the commoners in the city. Ramachandra Reddy along with the officials and staffers garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in GMC office and observed two-minute silence as mark of respect to the father of the nation.

Addressing the officials, in-charge commissioner Ramachandra Reddy said that Mahatma Gandhi had achieved the freedom from British rule with peace and non-violence. He said that entire nation followed Mahatma Gandhi was he followed what he preached to the others. He said that Mahatma adviced the government functionaries to extended dedicated services to the people visiting their offices as they were being paid for that.

“It is our duty to respect the citizen and resolve their grievances. We are being paid to provide best services to the people. You should always keep in mind that it is our failure if anyone complains against deficiency of services by the GMC,” cautioned in-charge commissioner. He recalled that Mahatma sacrificed his life to stay with his ideals and principles.

He said that officials should be dedicated and committed to their work and follow Mahatma’s principles to make people happy.
