Raptadu is a significant constituency in the Andhra Pradesh assembly, situated in the Anantapur district. It is a GENERAL category seat, meaning anyone can contest regardless of their community. In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) won the Raptadu seat with 111,201 votes. The runner-up was Paritala Sreeram from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), who received 85,626 votes.
