Punjab based Trident group donates Rs 21 crore to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams

TIRUPATI: Punjab based Trident group donated Rs.21 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams on Sunday.

Chairman of the Trident group Rajinder Gupta handed over the donation in the form of a cheque to TTD additional executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary at Tirumala earlier in the day.

The donor appealed to the Tirupati trust to make use of the donation to strengthen the activities of Sri Venkateswara Nithya Annaprasadam trust, through which TTD provides top quality food free of cost to the devotees visiting Tirumala round the clock.

TTD sources said this is the biggest single donation received this year. Donations have been pouring into the coffers of the Tirumala temple, which is touted as the richest Hindu temple in the world.

The Tirumala temple received a record hundi collection of Rs.125.35 crore in July.

According to TTD sources, Hundi collections at the Lord Balaji mandir has received Rs.100 crore plus donations continuosly for more than 29 months now, which is also a new record in the history of the Tirumala temple.
