The fishermen, hailing from Kakinada, were on a boat owned by Balagam Venkateswarulu from Vemula Deevi in West Godavari. They managed to net this enormous sea fish but were unable to bring it to shore.

About 30 fishermen attempted to haul the mammoth fish to the shore but were unsuccessful. Eventually, they used a JCB to pull the large fish closer to the shore. The fishermen decided to transport the fish to Kumbhabhishekam shore in Kakinada to secure a better price for their catch.
