Former minister Narayana confident of making a comeback at Nellore city
TIRUPATI: Former minister and educationist Ponguru Narayana who suffered a set back in the previous elections, is confident of making a comeback at the Nellore city assembly constituency in the 2024 elections.
While Narayana is once again contesting on a TDP ticket, the ruling YSRCP has fielded deputy mayor Mohammed Khaleel Ahmed against him, after sending the sitting MLA Anil Kumar Yadav to contest from the Narasaraopet Lok sabha constituency.
As the TDP and the YSRCP is engaged in a close contest at the Nellore city assembly constituency, Narayana has embarked on an aggressive campaign, with just three days left for the polling day.
The former minister accused the YSRCP govt of completely sidelining the constituency development in the last five years.
"TIDCO houses construction was completed during the TDP regime itself. The YSRCP govt failed to complete the minor works and handover the houses to the beneficiaries despite being in power for five years. We are confident that the NDA alliance will form the govt in AP and at the centre and will handover the houses to the beneficiaries immediately after coming to power", Narayana assured.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP candidate Khaleel Ahmed slammed the TDP for joining hands with the BJP, which was bent upon suspending the Muslim reservations.
He exuded confidence that the minority voters have always backed the YSRCP and will pledge their support in the upcoming elections as well.
