Buffalo sexually assaulted Andhra's West Godavari

RAJAHNUMDRY: In an inhumane act, miscreants have allegedly sexually assaulted a buffalo in West Godavari district. A farmer has lodged a complaint with Veeravasaram Police Station alleging that four youths have sexually assaulted his buffalo in his cow shed. The police booked a case under Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act. The incident reportedly took place on the night of July 3 and the owner of the buffalo, Pilli Sitharamaiah belongs to Thokalapudi Palem village in Veeravasaram mandal has found that his buffalo was injured on 4 th morning.

Talking to the TOI, Veeravasaram Sub-Inspector Ramesh said that four youth allegedly consumed liquor near the cow shed a day before the incident took place and the owner of the buffalo scolded them. Sitharamaiah came to conclusion that the youth have resorted sexually assault the buffalo.

Dr Priyanka Robert, the veterinary doctor who examined the buffalo has told the TOI that it is very difficult to come to a conclusion as two weeks passed after the buffalo was injured. She mentioned that it is easy to come to a conclusion on what happened if the animal examined within two to four hours. She said that the local veterinary staff has treated the animal and started medication two weeks back and healing process of injuries has started. She found abrasion on the skin of hind leg and injury and swelling on femoral bone on hind leg. She observed no injury on vagina wall and she made it clear that it is impossible to collect swab after two weeks.
