BJP leaders seek action against ambulance mafia atrocities in Tirupati
TIRUPATI: Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata party led by its state official spokesperson Samanchi Srinivas urged the officials of the SVRR government general hospital to initiate stringent action against the ambulance mafia atrocities in the temple city of Tirupati.
In his representation handed over to the SVRR government general hospital superintendent, Samanchi Srinivas complained about the manner in which poor people admitted to the govt hospital in the city were being fleeced by the ambulance mafia.
"Though there have been numerous tragic instances of family members forced to carry the bodies of the deceased on bikes when they couldn't afford to pay the hefty rentals demanded by the ambulance drivers, nothing has been done concrete to end the atrocities of the ambulance mafia", the BJP spokesperson lamented.
Stating that the BJP representatives have already lodged a complaint on the issue with the state health minister Satya Kumar, Samanchi Srinivas exuded confidence that the government will soon initiate stringent measures to crack the whip against errant ambulance drivers indulging in acts of fleecing poor patients at government hospitals.
