Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his grief over the recent blast at a pharma unit in Achutapuram and informed that special attention would be laid on improving safety measures in industries within the next three months.
Speaking to the media at AP Secretariat on Thursday, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged that there are significant deficiencies in the safety measures at many industries, and emphasized the need for action.
He highlighted the importance of safety of workers and ordered officials to conduct pollution audits in all industries.
Pawan also spoke about his plans to personally visit Visakhapatnam to inspect the situation and hold meetings. He directed them to take necessary measures to safeguard people's lives and reiterated that compensation would be given in the event of accidents, but emphasized the importance of collective responsibility to prevent such incidents from occurring in the first place.
Pawan Kalyan concluded by calling for a balanced approach to industrial growth and environmental protection.
He announced that comprehensive plans would be formulated, and action would be taken within the next three months to address these critical issues.
