Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu visits Srisailam temple, offers 'Jalaharathi' to Krishna river
TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Brahmarambika Ammavaru at the world-renowned Srisailam temple in Nandyal district on Thursday.
Srisailam Devasthanams officials and priests, led by Executive Officer D Peddi Raju, extended the Poornakumbham welcome to the Chief Minister on his arrival at the main entrance of the Srisailam temple earlier in the day.
After being led inside the sanctum, Naidu worshipped Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Brahmarambika Ammavaru for a brief while. Later, the temple priests rendered Vedasirvachanam on the Chief Minister.
The CM also offered Jalaharathi to the Krishna waters at the Srisailam project later in the day. The Srisailam project has been receiving excess inflows and has reached full reservoir capacity levels due to the incessant rainfall reported in the upstream states over the last few days.
State ministers Nimmala Ramanaidu, BC Janardhan Reddy, NMD Farooq, Nandyal MP Byreddy Shabari, and Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy took part in the CM's visit to Nandyal district on Thursday.
