TIRUPATI: Four members of a family died after the roof of their house collapsed while they were asleep at Chinna Vangili village in Chagalamarri mandal of Nandyal district in Andhra Pradesh.
The incident, which occurred past midnight, was reported on Friday morning when neighbors noticed the fallen roof and found the bodies under the debris.
The victims were identified as Guru Sekhar Reddy, aged 45, Dasthagiramma, aged 38, and their daughters Pavithra, 16, and Guru Lakshmi, 10. The sole survivor of the family is the couple's second daughter, Prasanna, who was at Ushodaya School in Proddatur at the time.
Local police arrived at the scene upon learning of the incident. They registered a case and transported the bodies for a post-mortem examination.
