Youth held for assaulting woman, bailed out on same day

Prayagraj: A youth was arrested by Shivkuti police on Wednesday on the charges of harassing a woman preparing for competitive exams and assaulting her. The accused, however, was bailed out on the same day. The complainant alleged that the son of the owner of the lodge, where she was staying on rent, was harassing her for the past 10 days and made an abortive attempt to assault her on May 18 night. She alleged that the accused even locked her from outside when she didn’t open up, and she had to call up other lodge mates and relatives for help. Further investigation is underway in the case.
