‘VHP active in edu, healthcare & social harmony programmes’

Prayagraj: Senior functionary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi Prant), Nitin Bharat, on Monday said the organisation is actively engaged in education, healthcare, social harmony and cultural awareness programmes across the region, while also working to curb religious conversions, prevent cow smuggling and protect Sanatan symbols. He said the VHP’s initiatives are guided by the principle of “Seva Paramo Dharma” (service is the supreme duty).

Addressing workers during a Parishad Shiksha Varg programme, Bharat said the organisation runs several projects in tribal areas aimed at creating awareness, promoting self-respect among marginalised communities and strengthening social cohesion. Campaigns are also being conducted to prevent the desecration of Sanatan symbols and check illegal cow smuggling, he added.

“The organisation actively participates in social and religious activities and advocates freeing Hindu temples from government control. Along with protecting Sanatan culture and opposing divisive tendencies, it regularly undertakes awareness campaigns on public health, education and environmental issues and extends support to communities during festivals and social events,” he said.

Bharat said that since its inception, the VHP has worked to promote Hindu religion and culture across all sections of society. Established on Krishna Janmashtami in 1964 under the guidance of revered saints and eminent thinkers, the VHP is a non-political organisation dedicated to uniting Hindu society, preserving Hindu culture and contributing to human welfare.

He said the organisation has consistently worked towards Hindu unity, cultural preservation and the dissemination of spiritual and moral values. It has also maintained close contact with Hindu communities living abroad and extended support to them whenever required.

According to Bharat, the VHP remains active in healthcare, education and social harmony initiatives, while continuing its campaigns related to cow protection, Vedic traditions and opposition to religious conversions and “Love Jihad”.

He said the organisation functions through various wings, including Bajrang Dal for youth and Durga Vahini under its Matru Shakti (women’s wing). Other departments such as the Dharmacharya Sampark Vibhag and Samarasata Vibhag work to strengthen social unity and outreach among different sections of Hindu society.

Bharat urged workers to remain committed to the organisation’s campaigns and programmes, saying that through collective efforts Hindu culture and traditions are being promoted not only across India but also among Hindu communities worldwide.
