Six-lane bridge over Ganga

A six-lane bridge is coming up over the Ganga in Prayagraj under phase-II of the Ring Road project. The project is aimed at boosting connectivity and easing traffic movement across key parts of the city.

2/7

Superstructure work from June

Following completion of pillars, segment placement and superstructure work will begin in June. Segment casting is already underway near Saraswati Hi-Tech City to support the next phase.

3/7

3.1km mega structure

The bridge will be 3,100 metres long, including a 2,100-metre cable-stayed section. Its scale and design make it one of the most significant and visually prominent infrastructure projects in the region.

4/7

To ease traffic load

The Ring Road project aims to divert heavy vehicles away from city roads. Once complete, the bridge is expected to reduce travel time and ease congestion, especially during peak hours and large gatherings.

5/7

Pillar work 90% done

Construction is underway on 80 pillars, with nearly 90% already completed. Officials expect the remaining pillar work to be wrapped up by May, marking steady progress on the project.

6/7

Enhanced cable design

The cable-stayed section will have cables at 150-metre intervals, with around 14 segments planned. This design is more extensive than earlier projects, improving both structural strength and aesthetics.

7/7

Key areas to be linked

The bridge will connect Nibi Kala, Chhatnag and Saraswati Hi-Tech City in Naini. It is expected to improve connectivity between trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna regions, helping streamline daily movement.
