Kids to enact Ram, Sita in Kaushambi’s Ram Lila

Prayagraj: The authorities of Kaushambi’s Daranagar Ram Lila are busy these days selecting kids below 13 years who would be portraying the main characters of Ramayan in 13 different localities of Kadha Dham area of the district. Interestingly, this is the only Ram Lila, which is being organised only during daytime at different localities. It is set to commence from October 15 and continue till October 27. While children will portray characters of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita characters of Hanuman, Jamvant, Sugreev and Angad are played by adults. Another attraction of the Ram Lila will be the historical ‘Kuppi Yuddh’ between the armies of Lord Ram and demon king Ravan and the event will be organised on October 24 and 25. Interestingly, visitors from across the country will be arriving to see famous ‘Kuppi Yuddh’, which is being played on 10th (Dashmi) and 11th day (Ekadashi) of Ram Lila. The fight is arranged at a special ground spread over 3500 sqm. Adequate security arrangements, including barricading, will be done to ensure no trouble to spectators. Adya Prasad Pandey, president of the committee told TOI: “Daranagar Ramlila stands different as it is not organised on stage and kids below 13 years of age play prominent characters under the guidance and direction of priests only during daytime at different localities.” Pandey added that the Ram Lila is into its 244th year. Pandey said, “The selection of kids playing different characters will be completed by next week. While Ram Lila is being staged in daytime, priests will also organise puja in a particular locality where the episode of Ram Lila is to be staged. Locals pointed out this unique Ram Lila was inaugurated by one Vijay Mishra about 243 years back but gained popularity about 100 years back. People from different communities help in organising this special Ram Lila. Most importantly, killing of Ravan is not organised on Dusshera but on a day later, on Ekadashi.

Patharchatti Ram Lilas episodes to be performed in varied dance forms

The Patharchatti Ram Lila committee in Prayagraj is organizing a grand Ram Lila event from October 15. Choreographers and dance directors are training the artists to perform different episodes using various dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Mohiniyattam, tribal, folk, and classical. The event will showcase different dance forms for each episode, including Mohiniyattam for Sugreev Darbar and Bharatnatyam for Ravana Darbar. Artists are undergoing rigorous training and practicing for at least six hours a day to make the event spectacular. Spectators are expected to appreciate the performances presented through different dance forms.

'Ayodhya Ke Shree Ram' dedicates to the grand inauguration of Lord Shri Ram's temple

Lord Shri Ram's temple in Ayodhya is set to have its grand inauguration next year. The music recording for the upcoming project 'Ayodhya Ke Shree Ram' has recently been completed, with renowned Bollywood music director Madhav S Rajput as the director and composer. The lyrics are written by Meenakshi SR, and the voices are provided by Madhav S Rajput and Srishti Naveen. Additionally, the Muhurat for the web series 'Dil Nawaji' was also done, with Pranav Vatsa as the author and Madhav S Rajput as the director. The web series is being made with a romantic theme and will consist of five episodes.
