Wangchuck arrived in the state capital on Monday and received a warm welcome from the chief minister before heading to Sangam city for the spiritual ritual. CM introduced the Bhutanese King to the significance of Maha Kumbh.

The CM, along with the Bhutanese King, also offered prayers to the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati. After the holy dip, King Wangchuck and CM Yogi visited Akshayvat and Bade Hanuman Temple and offered prayers. They also toured the Digital Maha Kumbh Experience Centre and explored the spiritual and digital essence of the mega event.

The visit of the Bhutanese King was seen as a significant step towards strengthening the cultural and diplomatic ties between the two neighbouring nations. On the occasion, several prominent figures, including cabinet minister Satyendra Dev Singh, Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', and Jagadguru Santosh Das (Satua Baba) of the Vishnuswami Sampradaya, along with other dignitaries were also present.
