JAIPUR: Ajmer Dargah Dewan Syed Zainual Abedin Ali Khan has called Indian Muslims to stand against the Talibanised mindset which is responsible for the gruesome killing of Kanhiyalal in Udaipur by two terrorists.
"I condemn the incident. The way it has been executed shows the two terrorists involved in the crime have links with organised terrorist groups. The incident is nothing but a sheer display of Talibanised ideology," said Khan.
In a statement released by his office, he urged the central and state governments, religious heads and civil society groups to fight against the radical groups which are regularly acting against the constitution of the country. "I demand that arrested terrorists should be given the harshest of punishments to set an example in society so that nobody can dare to take the law into their hands," said Dewan.
Khanukhan Budhwali, chairman of Rajasthan Board of Muslim Waqfs, in a statement appealed to citizens to maintain peace and harmony. "The incident is condemnable and has no place in the civilised world. A united India can fight out these radical criminals whose real intention is disrupting peace and harmony," said Budhwali.
Jamiat E Islami Rajasthan secretary Naim Rabbani said, "Such hatemongers deserve no place in society. We all should fight such extreme groups for peace."
Member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Yasmin Farooqui said, "These criminals are misfit to live in society. If you don't trust the judiciary, you have no right to live in the country. We as Indians should identify and call out such radicals living with us posing a threat to all."
