Women held for thefts on buses

Ahmedabad: City crime branch arrested two women, Rajeshwari Jadav (29) and Sonal Gaikwad (31), for stealing valuables and jewellery from commuters using BRTS and AMTS buses. Investigators say the duo are involved in multiple such thefts in the city. Crime branch officials said both are residents of Kubernagar and were nabbed after a tip-off was received. Police said they confessed to stealing Rs 1 lakh cash from a passenger’s pocket aboard a crowded bus in Ellisbridge. Police said Jadav had earlier been arrested for cases in Satellite, Khadia, Rakhial, Karanj, Danilimda, Kagdapith and Ellisbridge. She was twice externed under PASA twice and sent to Jamnagar and Surat jails. Gaikwad has earlier been arrested for cases filed at the police stations of Kalupur, Satellite, Isanpur, Khadia, Rakhial, Gujarat University, Kagdapith, Naranpura and Ellisbridge.

Loader at Delhi airport arrested for stealing valuables from passengers' bags

A loader at the IGI airport in New Delhi has been arrested for allegedly stealing valuables from passengers' bags. The police received a complaint from a passenger who noticed that his iPhone was missing after reaching Canada. CCTV footage and interrogation led to the arrest of the loader, who confessed to the theft and revealed that other airline staff had helped him in the past. The police have also discovered that airlines are not following security guidelines, and officials from two airlines are being investigated. So far in 2023, 25 people involved in baggage theft have been arrested.

Police arrest 8 in stabbing case

Eight individuals have been arrested in Haveri, Karnataka, for their involvement in a stabbing case against a retired bank manager. The incident occurred on August 10, when the victim and his son were chased and stabbed by the group. The main accused, Harikrishna Anantha Rao, has obtained anticipatory bail. In another news, the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Dharwad emphasized the importance of protecting forests and biodiversity in the Western Ghats region. Meanwhile, the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) is organizing a protest in Dharwad to demand the abolition of the contract labour system and the regularization of contract employees. Man arrested for theft of motorcycles

A man named Amandeep Singh was arrested in Mohali for motorcycle theft. Six stolen motorcycles were recovered from him. The police received a tip-off about his whereabouts and stopped him while he was riding a stolen motorcycle. Upon questioning, he admitted his identity and revealed the location of five more stolen motorcycles. In total, six stolen motorcycles and one Activa were seized from him.
